FAQs

Find answers to common questions about this course and preparing for TradingView-focused product interviews.

TradingView PMs need a unique blend of financial market knowledge and product development skills. Unlike generalist PM roles, our PMs must understand complex trading concepts and translate them into user-friendly features for a diverse user base ranging from novice investors to professional traders.

While you don't need to be a software engineer, a strong technical foundation is crucial. Understanding of financial data structures, API integrations, and basic coding concepts (especially related to our Pine Script language) will give you a significant advantage in collaborating with our engineering teams and making informed product decisions.

Balancing the needs of our diverse user base is often the biggest challenge. We serve both individual retail investors and large financial institutions, each with very different requirements. PMs must navigate these competing demands while maintaining a cohesive product vision.

We have a robust culture of experimentation, leveraging our large user base for meaningful A/B tests. PMs are expected to design and analyze these experiments, working closely with our data science team to draw actionable insights that drive product improvements.

TradingView offers significant growth opportunities for PMs. As we expand into new markets and develop more advanced trading tools, there are paths to lead larger teams, take on more strategic roles, or specialize in areas like algorithmic trading or social investing features. We also encourage PMs to become thought leaders in the fintech space through conference speaking and industry engagement.
