Product Management Product Design Question: governance console for AI agents on Wipro WEGA

Introduction

WEGA is Wipro's unified, agent-native AI delivery platform within the Wipro Intelligence suite. Third-party analysts have reported Wipro running hundreds of AI agents across dozens of clients, handling tasks like IT service requests, claims processing and finance operations. As agents multiply, a new problem appears for clients: who is watching them? An operations leader at a bank might have 300 agents acting on systems and customers, with no single place to see what they are doing, how well they perform, what they cost and when to stop them. The question asks me to design a governance console in WEGA for this leader. I'll clarify, explain why it matters, segment users, prioritise pain points, design the solution and define metrics.

Tip

For agent governance, think of how air traffic control works: visibility of everything in the sky, clear rules, alerts when something drifts, and the authority to intervene instantly. Using an analogy like this helps interviewers follow your design.

Step 1

Clarify Questions (3 minutes)

  • Who is the primary user?

  • Hypothetical answer: The client's head of operations or head of shared services, plus their risk and IT teams.
  • Impact: The console must be understandable to non-engineers.
  • What do the agents do?

  • Hypothetical answer: A mix: IT ticket resolution, invoice processing, customer email triage, data reconciliation. Some only recommend; some act autonomously.
  • Impact: Governance needs differ by autonomy level.
  • Who builds and runs the agents?

  • Hypothetical answer: Wipro delivery teams build most; some are client-built; WEGA hosts all of them.
  • Impact: The console must cover agents regardless of who built them.
  • What regulations apply?

  • Hypothetical answer: Banking regulators' model risk guidelines, data protection laws, and in Europe, the EU AI Act.
  • Impact: Audit trails and risk classification are essential.

Propose the Goal

Give client operations leaders a single console in WEGA to see, measure and control every AI agent in their operations, so they can scale agent use confidently while meeting risk and compliance expectations.

Define the Scope

In scope: agent inventory, performance and cost monitoring, policy controls, alerting, human escalation, kill switch, audit. Out of scope: building agents, model training.
