FAQs
Find answers to common questions about this course and preparing for UBS-focused product interviews.
-
No dedicated APM programme is advertised. Fresh graduates usually join through the Graduate Talent Program, a rotational track of about two years in technology or business divisions, and move into product owner roles afterwards. MBA graduates in India and Switzerland are hired into business roles that can lead to product ownership.
-
Product owners typically own one team's backlog and delivery, working closely with engineers each day. Product managers usually have broader scope, owning a product area's strategy across several teams, business cases and stakeholder alignment. Titles vary across divisions, so read the job description carefully.
-
Less so. Candidates report that interviews focus on past experience, stakeholder management and domain knowledge. Some teams include a case study or technical round, so it is wise to prepare product design, metrics and root cause frameworks anyway.
-
It helps but is not always required. Technology-focused product roles value platform, data or cloud experience, while client-facing roles prefer banking or wealth management knowledge. Showing you understand regulation and risk can compensate for limited domain experience.
-
India teams build and run global platforms for wealth management, investment banking, operations and group functions. Product owners there often own backlogs for global products and work with stakeholders in Zurich, London and the US, so communication across time zones matters.
-
UBS offers hybrid working in most locations, typically with a few days a week in the office. Fully remote roles are rare.
